Clarinetist
Although only in his mid-twenties, Armenian born Narek Arutuyunian is already enjoying an international career. He has performed extensively in Australia, Asia, and in Europe, and he has also appeared with the Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and the Moscow State symphony. Performances in the U.S. include the Orchestra of St. Luke’s at Alice Tully Hall, the Boston Pops, and numerous regional orchestras. His growing prominence also includes a number of educational outreach programs in New York City’s public schools and around the country.
A winner of the Young Concert Artist auditions, he has given debut recitals in the Merkin Concert Hall and the Kennedy Center to rave reviews. He is currently completing his Master’s Degree at the Manhattan School of Music where he is studying with Charles Neidich (also faculty of the Sarasota Music Festival). His playing “reaches passionate depths with seemingly effortless technical prowess and beguiling sensitivity” (Washington Post). He will also be appearing in solo recital for Artist Series Concerts.
