Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources consists of 10 public libraries and Historical Resources.

The 10 public libraries are spread throughout the county. Four libraries are located in Sarasota (Betty J. Johnson, Fruitville, Gulf Gate, Selby), one library is located in Osprey (Osprey Library at Historic Spanish Point), two libraries are located in Venice (Frances T. Bourne Jacaranda, William H. Jervey Jr.), one library is located in Englewood (Elsie Quirk), two are located in North Port (North Port, Shannon Staub).

Historical Resources houses and maintains a variety of historically significant objects, and works throughout the county to help preserve historic structures and archaeological sites.
