Hands-On History Hours
July 3 @ 10:00 am - July 31 @ 11:00 amFree
Join Manatee Village Historical Park on Tuesdays in July for Hands-on History Hours. Families can participate in themed activities each session, including pioneer food day, Civil War day, cow hunter day, blacksmith day, and pioneer fun day.
Each Tuesday (July 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31) at 10am, parents and their children will be led by Manatee Village staff in fun, historically-based hands-on activities, which will include take-home items. Activities encompass old fashioned butter making, designing cattle brands, tasting cane syrup, making a pioneer toy or game, quill and ink writing, and more.
This program is free, but registration is required. Space is limited. Additionally, registration allows Manatee Village staff to ensure there are enough supplies for all participants. Families can register for one day, multiple days, or all sessions.
Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy Manatee Village Historical Park’s Junior Junction Playground after the Hands-on History Hours.
While activities are designed for children ages 6+, a parent or guardian is required to stay with their child throughout the program. Younger siblings are welcome to attend.
